ADVENTURES FROM THE OTTERMOBILE – A TRAVEL BLOG

For here am I sitting in a tin can…

… The Ottermobile launches from Halifax, March 2017.

In 2017 I lost my job.  At the time I was renting a swanky apartment in Manchester.  Losing my income was of course a devastating blow and I knew I could no longer afford to be a City Slicker.  But there is Gypsy in my blood and I’d always fantasised about living off-grid, travelling the country and writing about the people I met along the way.  So here was my chance.  I sold my furniture, bought a clapped-out campervan and took to the road.  My intention was to live that way for twelve months, seeing which would break down first, the van or me.  Turned out it was me, but not before I’d met some amazing people, enjoyed and endured varied experiences and saw what it was like to live off-grid in my rusty tin can I called The Ottermobile

To join me on that journey please visit the blog https://ottermobile.wordpress.com/ – it’s a bumpy ride at times and not for the faint-hearted but it’s an honest and sometimes nonsensical account of my off-grid experiences and my living with the depression that’s dogged me all my life.
